Disturbances is the four-headed brainchild of Artie Brennan, Matt Kaplan, Jun Naito, and Jessica Ritacco – a group of actors, writers, and directors eager to create a new and original horror web series. They all share a passion for film, a love of the macabre, and a taste for intricate, off-beat characters. They agreed to each write one episode of the series, centering around a mischievous ghost named Ivy and the unfortunate tenants of an old haunted boarding house.
The production team quickly expanded as others came on board to contribute their expertise and knowledge: graphic designer and special effects make-up artist Patty Buckheit; director, editor and producer Katie Carman-Lehach; camera operator Jeff Enkler; and editor, director and director of photography Geoff Gibson. Thus assembled, they went into production in Astoria, Queens in December of 2014.
The team of eight self-motivated artists collaborated to create Disturbances: Room For Rent. Season One is a chilling four-part web series featuring an ensemble cast of talented and daring actors who went above and beyond to bring their characters to life (and death!) on screen. The entire Disturbed Team and Ivy’s Room Productions are thrilled to present Disturbances: Room For Rent, and they hope you are compelled to share it with your own Disturbed friends and family. ABOUT THE TEAM
Artie Brennan (Writer, Director, Producer)
Artie studied acting at NYU, Improv & Sketch comedy at The Upright Citizens Brigade, and writing at The People's Improv Theater & UCB. On your TV or iPad, he has appeared in several commercials and in Showtime's "The Affair", Nat Geo's "American Genius", and Comedy Central's "The Onion Sports Dome". Artie has also had roles in numerous indie films including the cult horror film "Plasterhead". Live and filmed sketch comedy is where he is most at home, working on every major stage in NYC (with The Grape Dutches of York and as a guest with several other sketch groups). Artie performed improv in over 100 shows with The Red Tie Mafia in a dank, stank basement of a bar on Manhattan's west side, and opened Monolodge's Tribute to DeNiro at this years Tribeca Film Festival.As a writer/director Artie's latest project "Gowanus Galapagos", a nature mockumentary, was a top ten pick in National Geographic's Wild to Inspire.

Patty Buckheit is a freelance graphic designer with a background in toy design. She is the production designer and SFX make-up artist for the web series Disturbances because Matt Kaplan said so. Katie Carman-Lehach (Producer, Director, Editor)
Katie Carman-Lehach is a NYC based film director, editor and writer. She is a co-founder of Cold Hands Productions LLC, which produced her two feature films Eat Me! (2010) and Off Season (2012), currently available on SnagFilms, EpixHD, Dish Network, and others. Her films have screened at festivals including NewFilmmakers NY, KIN International Film Festival, and LI Film Expo among others, and she's written for Filmmaker Magazine and HerFilm.com. She is currently developing a new feature horror comedy script with longtime writing partner (and Cold Hands co-founder), Elizabeth Lee.

Geoff Gibson (Director of Photography, Director, Producer)
Geoff Gibson is considered a Jack of All trades by colleagues and friends. He attended SUNY Buffalo for his bachelors degree, first studying Acting, then Business Administration. After SUNY Buffalo he worked a number of Multi-Dimensional jobs at ADCO and the Erie County County Government. Finally in 2011 Geoff decided to return to school at Brooklyn College to study Film Production and has been working around the New York City area on various Film projects ever since.
Matt Kaplan (Producer, Writer)
Matt Kaplan is an actor and writer often known for playing cops, clowns and killers. He is a co-creator, co-producer, writer and actor in the web series Disturbances. Matt is a native New Yorker and lives in Sunset Park with his ghost-cat, the late Miss Mochi Grimes.
Jun Naito (Producer, Writer)
Jun Naito is an actor, writer, and producer. You may have seen him play an agnostic insurance investigator in Life of Pi, Jack Donaghy's lawyer in 30 Rock, or a human organ-stealing gangster in Person of Interest. Behind the scenes he's written screenplays, sketches, and wrote/produced/directed/starred in comedic short film 8 Days Later which was accepted into multiple festivals. His weapon of choice in a zombie apocalypse is a bow rake.
Jessica Ritacco (Producer, Director, Writer)
Since receiving her degree in Theatre Arts from SUNY New Paltz, Jessica has gone on to perform throughout NYC in Theatre, Film, TV and the Web. She has studied improv and comedy at UCB and The PIT in NYC, and at The New Movement Theater in Austin, TX. She has been a writer and performer for numerous sketch comedy teams, including Grape Dutches of York, Desperate Times, Pirate Sugar, and Salute Your Skirts.
